If so, Judge Foundry wants to hear from you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this survey, we\u2019re trying to gather information about judge compensation at RCQs, because we\u2019re looking to post some recommendations for tournament organizers. Photo \u00a9 John Brian McCarthy<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019ll be open for two weeks, and it\u2019ll take about five minutes to fill out (which means you could fill it out 4,032 times, but please just fill it out once). In it, we ask questions about the size and complexity of your typical in-store RCQ, about how you get paid, and about you and your local area. The survey is completely anonymous, though if you want to elaborate on your answers to tell us something we didn\u2019t ask about, you can <a href=\"mailto:board@judgefoundry.org\">email the board of directors<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some frequently asked questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The SCGCon I worked included an RCQ &#8211; should I include that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this survey, we\u2019re just looking to learn about in-store RCQs, and analogous Competitive REL events. While destination events are also important to us, they have different cost expectations for judges and we don\u2019t want to lump them together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I get paid in CAD. Should I convert my comp to USD?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No, thank you! The first section of the survey asks if you\u2019re in the United States or Canada, and we\u2019ll handle all the conversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I worked a bunch of RCQs and they all had different compensation. Should I fill out the survey several times?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would prefer if you just estimate the average case and use that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I didn\u2019t work any RCQs, but I judge FNMs every week. Do you want information about that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do, but not on this survey. We\u2019ll likely conduct another survey down the road about Regular REL in-store events, but let\u2019s see how this survey goes first and we\u2019ll be better able to create the next one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why not survey TOs to get these data?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because we have a lot of ways to reach judges and fewer ways to reach TOs. We know judges, TOs, and players all have useful things to say, and we\u2019re looking at ways to contact them to get their perspectives down the road. But there\u2019s no reason not to get information from judges while we figure out the TO side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For what will these data be used?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary purpose is to publish some guidelines on trends for judge compensation at RCQs. Beyond that, we\u2019re looking to learn more about in-store judging so we can figure out more ways to serve judges who focus on their LGSs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When does the survey
