Regional Activity Update

Western & Eastern Provinces

The RA of the Western Provinces Region, Chris Hrichishen, made me aware of this amazing recognition article series known as the Maple Mana: A Canadian Judge Spotlight.  This article series has highlighted some stellar judges such as Michael Hill, Tobi Vyseri, Sierra Black, Aaron MacLean, and Kyle Ryc!  I have considered spinning this type of project up for my region, and I think you should consider it as well!  Thank you, Chris, for enlightening us!

Plains

The RA of the Plains Region, Jordan Powell, wanted me to update you all on a few things.  First, if you judge primarily in the Plains or Great Lakes Regions or are interested in keeping tabs on the major events in those two regions, Robert Taylor’s Public Facebook Group – Midwest Tournament Updater is the resource for you!  Moreover, Jordan is currently working on a project that consists of reaching out to the LGSs throughout the Plains Region and inviting them to the Plains Regional Discord.  If you would like to help Jordan out with this monumental, yet pivotal, project, please reach out to them.  Thank you, Jordan, for highlighting these two updates for us!

Northeast

The RA of the Northeast Region, Dennis Bradford, wanted me to update you all on a few things.  First, there will be a charity Pauper event happening in Rochester, NY on Saturday, December 20th.  Furthermore, Dennis very recently hosted his first-of-many Jersey Shore Judge Classes at his LGS; you can read all about it in his conference report.  Dennis is aware that these judge classes are not very accessible to a majority of JF members due to location, but he wants to inspire and encourage others to host some learning sessions.  Thank you, Dennis, for leading the charge in learning and mentorship!

Great Lakes

The Great Lakes Region is hosting a Judge Conference on the Friday of SCG CON Milwaukee on Friday, December 20th.  The details of the conference are still being worked on, but the conference will for sure include hands-on, engaging sessions, presenter gifts, food, and fun times.  Keep an eye on JudgeApps for the event posting, and we look forward to seeing you there!  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Khailyn Schaefer.
